Do you get the warning to "Please select only Shapes, Compounds or Groups" ?

  1. This could be a valid issue, as some objects may not be valid:

    1. Incomplete or broken object paths

    2. Unsupported objects & features

  2. This could also be a misconfiguration (an issue since Illustrator 29.7):

    1. Activate the checkbox “Include SVG Code” to ensure Fontself can import your glyphs again:
