Creator Lite

What is this?

Creator Lite allows you to create smileys and pictograms from your own drawings, uploaded pictures and webcam pictures. This is as well a storage application, where you can find and modify your saved creations in the personal font pack.

It is necessary to create a Fontself account to have access to this tool, as the personal font pack is stored in, and linked to your account.

  • Creator Lite is, therefore, a creative and storage application: you can’t send messages with it.
  • Once you are done with your first creation, your personal font package saved and automatically made available to the Widget Maker for immediate use. You will need the Widget Maker to use your smileys through Blogger as well as blogs and and websites compatible with HTML code.

How does it work?

Creator Lite is a very intuitive app, very easy to use:

  • Make your own creation
  • Give it a name (shortcut keyword): this keyworld will be the one you will use to ‘recall’ the front from Widget Maker and other future apps.
  • Save your picture in the Creator Lite
  • Go back to any Fontself application or the Netlog text editor to send your message
  • Compose and customise your message using the available Fontself fonts
  • Insert the exact keywords/shortcuts associated with your smiley, and we’ll replace the keywords byt the
  • Done! You will have a message combining our public fonts and your own creations.

Overall interface and toolbars

1 Option Items

You may start creating your smiley/illustrated word by:

  • Drawing with the digital pen
  • Uploading a picture file or the scan of a drawing
  • Take a picture from your webcam

2 Canvas area

This is the area where you can paint, modify and resize your pictures

3 Personal Fontpack

This section shows all your creations and their associated shortcut keywords. Your personal fontpack, contains your smileys and pictograms, and is automatically linked to the Widget Maker. Once you are done with your doodle, go the the Widget Maker to compose a message and include your new creation.

Whenever you type the exact shorcut keyword that you associated to one of your own (newly created) smileys/illustrated words, the Widget Maker will automatically replace the text keyword with the image (e.g. the work ‘heart’ by a picture of a heart).

Example above:
Type “Punkoala” in the Widget Maker text editor when composing your message and see what happens.

4 Preview area

The preview shows your smiley/illustrated word to scale comparing to the size of a Fontself font. Here, you can adjust the alignment and letter spacing for your creations.

Make your own creations

The canvas is the area where you can paint, retouch and draw whatever you want. Once you are happy with what you’ve created, type a keyworkd of it and click on “create”. From that point on, the keyword your type (e.g. ‘koala’) will always be associated with and replaced by the actual image of a koala that you created.

The actual size of your creation, that is how your smiley/illustrated work will appear in any message you compose, will be of the same size as the preview.

Adjust your picture

If your picture doesn’t match the preview, you have 3 possibilities of enhancing the way your picture looks like comparing to others.

  • Drag up and down your picture in the creation field
  • Modify the size of your picture with the Up/Down scale buttons (above left)
  • Rotate it left and right with the rotate buttons
